”To promote the education of all young people of all nations, but especially young people of limited means, by encouraging in them a greater knowledge, love and care of the countryside and an appreciation of the cultural values of towns and cities in all parts of the world, and as ancillary thereto to provide hostels or other accommodation in which there shall be no distinction of origin, nationality, colour, religion, sex, class, or political opinions and thereby to develop a better understanding of their fellow men, both at home and abroad” (Hostelling International Mission)

ROMANIAN HOSTELLING is a non-profit organization that was founded in 2014. The association is part of an international network of partners, wishing to contribute to a better understanding between young people, members or not, of the association and its partners. Our main partner is Hostelling International, one of the largest international organizations in the world with more than 3.7 million associate members and around 4000 hostels spread in over 80 countries. Hostelling International (HI) is an organization that was born in 1932 with the primary goal of coordinating the Youth Hostel Association worldwide.

The Romanian Hostelling Association has the following objectives:

• Establishing, material equipping and administration of youth camps;

• Developing a youth hostels network in Romania as places for education of young people;

• Promoting young people and families meetings on hiking and travelling circuits;

• Promoting people's connections with nature and protection of the environment;

• Promoting health awareness and developing the personality of young people;

• Promoting leisure opportunities through sports, hiking, playing, discussions and mutual activities;

• Promoting holiday and education trips for young people and families, in order to get acquainted with their own country and with foreign countries and peoples;

• Promoting hiking and school camps;

• Organizing professional training courses, trainings and seminars for young people and adults, especially for collaborators and members of Hostelling International network;

• Affiliation of the Association to the Hostelling International network, an international organization that currently has over 3.7 million members worldwide.

The Romanian Hostelling Association supports the idea that these spaces located all over the globe, existing in our country, are not only simple accessible places for accommodation but also places where the traveler can relax, have fun, experience the knowledge of different cultural values and meet new people from all over the world.

Hostelling International is constantly trying to expand its network by working with government agencies or volunteer groups to set up high standards, common to all, providing true Hostelling experience regardless of race, nationality, color or religion.
